OPPA Extends Condolences to Dr. Dale Svendsen and Family
The Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Association (OPPA) extends its heartfelt condolences to Dale Svendsen, MD, and his family on the passing of his beloved wife of 59 years, Gail Svendsen, on October 13, 2025.
Dr. Svendsen has been deeply engaged with OPPA and its Foundation for decades, serving in numerous leadership roles, including that of president. He has long been a pillar of strength and success for his colleagues and a beacon of hope for the younger generations of psychiatrists and organized psychiatry—touching countless lives through his dedication and compassion.
Whenever possible, Gail accompanied Dr. Svendsen to OPPA meetings and social gatherings, where she formed many lasting friendships and became a cherished member of the OPPA community. Her warmth, grace, and kindness will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
